Be Alert: Targeted Attacks on Prominent Rustaceans

The Rust Security Response Team issued a warning about an ongoing social-engineering campaign targeting prominent Rust contributors and crate maintainers, using fake video-call job-opportunity pretexts to get victims to run malicious commands.
It references earlier 2026 incidents including the August compromise of the arrayref crate, and gives guidance for verifying contacts and auditing accounts for unauthorized access.
