Linux 7.3-rc1 Released, Closing the Merge Window

The first release candidate for Linux 7.3 landed after a two-week merge window, weighing in around 10,000 commits and pushing the kernel to roughly 40.98 million lines. Linus Torvalds called it 'not the biggest rc1 we've ever had, but it's certainly up there.'
The release brings AMD Zen 6 groundwork, Btrfs performance work, and initial Apple Thunderbolt and KVM changes.
