Linux 7.3-rc3 Released

Linus Torvalds released the third release candidate for the upcoming Linux 7.3 kernel, describing it as 'another fairly large RC.' The RC carried a heavy filesystem footprint, notably XFS and SMB security fixes, alongside a continued surge of fixes attributed to AI-assisted bug hunting across subsystems.
It follows the busier-than-usual rc2 and keeps 7.3 on track for a stable release expected in mid-to-late October 2026.
