Linux 7.3-rc4 Released

The fourth release candidate landed with roughly 449 commits from about 239 contributors, which Torvalds called 'bigger than usual' for an rc4. Filesystems again dominated the diff, with SMB/CIFS and NTFS hardening leading a wave of network-facing security fixes, plus 34 Wi-Fi patches.
Torvalds indicated that if testing continues smoothly, the final stable Linux 7.3 release is targeted for October 18, 2026.
