The September stable release focuses on agentic workflows: it adds the ability to run AI agent sessions inside a project's local Dev Container so agents use the same tools and dependencies as the developer.
It also expands Codex harness support, letting users continue sessions across apps and choose between Copilot and ChatGPT subscriptions from within VS Code, alongside pull-request creation from agent sessions.
